Commercialization Manager – Scanners
Bold ideas, global teamwork, and big impact—come build the future of digital dentistry with SprintRay.
Commercialization Manager – Scanners
You are the single point of commercial accountability for Foundation and ScanOS. Everything the field needs to sell the platform starts with you.
Location: Los Angeles, CA (HQ) | Travel: approximately 30–40% | Reports to: VP, Product Commercialization
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base salary + annual bonus
Why This Role Exists
SprintRay’s scanner platform, including Foundation and ScanOS, represents an opportunity to expand our presence in digital dentistry. Bringing innovative scanning technology to market takes more than a great product: it requires a clear commercialization strategy that helps clinicians understand its clinical value, competitive advantages, and place in their digital workflows.
As Commercialization Manager – Scanners, you own commercial positioning and market readiness for the scanning portfolio. You will turn sophisticated hardware and software capabilities into compelling messaging, credible evidence, and field-ready tools that drive adoption. You will work with Product Development, Sales, Regional Marketing, Clinical Education, and Content to identify customer needs, address adoption barriers, and prepare teams to launch and sell Foundation and ScanOS. The U.S. is the primary market, with global impact as other regions expand.
Your mission: make SprintRay’s scanner platform easy to understand, compelling to adopt, and difficult for competitors to displace.
The Role
You own the commercial toolkit for the scanner line: positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, clinical evidence summaries, launch playbooks, training, demo scripts, objection handling, pricing guidance, and FAQs. Regional marketing leaders execute campaigns and own pipeline; you create the strategy and assets that make their execution effective. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, not a traditional people-management or demand-generation position.
Creative development is central. You partner directly with the Content Team to concept, script, and shape product demos, clinical workflow videos, case studies, KOL testimonials, launch films, and competitive comparisons. You drive the story and commercial substance; the Content Team handles production.
What You Own
Product Positioning & Messaging
Define how Foundation and ScanOS compete and how they are presented to different buyer segments. Develop the core value proposition, clinical story, competitive differentiation, messaging hierarchy, and clear sales pitch. Tailor messaging for first-time digital adopters and established digital practices, showing how scanner hardware, software, and interoperability fit into end-to-end clinical workflows. Update the framework as products, competitors, and clinical evidence evolve.
Key output: a maintained positioning and messaging architecture used consistently by regional teams, sales representatives, and content creators.
Launch Playbooks & Market Readiness
Own the commercialization plan for scanner launches, major ScanOS releases, new features, and market entries. Build a complete launch-in-a-box: launch timeline and readiness checklist, positioning, training, sales tools, competitive cards, demo framework, FAQs, and pricing guidance. Explain what changed, who benefits, how workflows improve, and what the field should demonstrate. Coordinate hardware and software messaging so every release has a cohesive story. Build for the U.S. first while making the master toolkit adaptable by international regions.
Key output: a complete, timely playbook that regional marketing leaders can execute independently.
Clinical Evidence & KOL Coordination
Partner with the VP and Clinical Team to identify the evidence gaps that affect competitive credibility and adoption. Prioritize commercial questions around scanning accuracy, clinical workflow efficiency, ease of use, and integration into digital dentistry. Help shape the evidence roadmap—what data or publications the market needs and when—without personally running studies. Translate technical findings and clinical outcomes into supportable commercial claims. Coordinate with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and clinical champions so their experience and evidence inform education, positioning, and sales materials.
Key output: a quarterly commercial evidence roadmap linking studies, publications, and KOL engagement to the market arguments they support.
Sales Enablement & Competitive Intelligence
Create and maintain sell sheets, ROI tools, product comparisons, battle cards, objection handlers, workflow guides, demo scripts, and distributor training. Track competitor launches, pricing, claims, and channel strategies, then rapidly refresh field guidance. For scanners, develop workflow-led demonstrations and software explainers that address ease of use, interoperability, clinical utility, switching concerns, and adoption barriers. Equip sales teams to communicate the value of the complete Foundation and ScanOS platform—not just device specifications.
Work with the Content Team to develop video-first enablement, including demonstrations, clinical walkthroughs, KOL interviews, and competitive content. Bring the creative concept, clinical substance, and commercial angle; review outputs and improve them using field feedback and usage data.
Key output: an actively used, video-rich sales enablement library that helps representatives communicate value and handle objections.
Product Manager Partnership
Serve as the scanner Product Manager’s commercial counterpart: they own what gets built; you own how it gets sold. Bring customer insights, pricing intelligence, competitor developments, and field feedback into roadmap discussions. Gain early visibility into hardware development, ScanOS releases, interoperability, and workflow enhancements so commercial strategy and launch materials are ready before release. Translate each meaningful product improvement into clear customer value and competitive positioning.
Key output: a regular joint roadmap review and aligned product and commercialization priorities.
How This Role Connects
VP, Product Commercialization: your direct manager; sets global standards, reviews positioning, approves launch readiness, and resolves cross-line priorities.
Scanner Product Manager: your primary partner on roadmap, launch timing, product capabilities, and voice of the customer.
Regional Marketing VPs and Sales Leadership: your internal customers; use your playbooks and assets to execute in-market, and provide feedback on what works.
Content Team: your production partner for commercial videos, demonstrations, case studies, and training; you own the story and substance.
Clinical Team and KOLs: partners on evidence priorities, clinical validation, and credible product education.
How You’re Measured
Success is measured by the quality, readiness, adoption, and usefulness of what you deliver—not by direct ownership of regional pipeline or revenue.
Launch readiness: complete commercialization toolkits delivered on time for hardware launches, software releases, and market entries.
Asset adoption: field use of sales and training materials, with improvements informed by feedback and adoption data.
Competitive response: updated positioning and field guidance following significant competitor moves; target within one week.
Evidence roadmap progress: closing priority clinical and commercial evidence gaps, with clear links to market needs.
Regional satisfaction and scanner effectiveness: feedback on toolkit quality and how well demos, positioning, and training help the field sell Foundation and ScanOS.
Who You Are
You have experience in product marketing or commercialization for complex technology—ideally a product combining hardware, software, technical workflows, and clinical or regulatory considerations. You can make sophisticated capabilities understandable to clinicians and sales teams, and you have personally built the tools needed to take a product to market.
Product-line experience: digital imaging, intraoral or industrial scanning, CAD/CAM, connected medical devices, or comparable hardware/software platforms is especially relevant. Dental experience is preferred, not required.
Commercialization execution: proven ability to build positioning, go-to-market plans, launch toolkits, demonstrations, sales training, and competitive enablement—not just strategy decks.
Technical storytelling: able to explain interoperability, software updates, and end-to-end workflows in customer-centered terms and address changes to established customer habits.
Competitive and evidence-led thinking: track market moves, interpret clinical or technical studies, and turn defensible findings into persuasive messaging.
Cross-functional creativity: credible with Product and Engineering, collaborative with Sales and Clinical, and comfortable shaping video concepts and reviewing content with a production team.
What This Role Is—and Isn’t
This is a deeply focused, hands-on commercialization role for Foundation and ScanOS. You do not need to be a dental industry veteran, a filmmaker, or a demand-generation specialist. You will not manage regional campaigns, advertising spend, distributor relationships, or a sales pipeline; those responsibilities sit with regional teams. You also will not manage a team on day one, although the role may evolve as the scanner business grows. You will be expected to combine strategic judgment with practical execution and own the commercial readiness of your product line.
Why SprintRay
You will own commercialization for a strategically important scanner platform, build its playbooks rather than inherit them, and influence how scanning hardware and ScanOS are understood and adopted. You will have direct access to product, clinical, commercial, and creative partners and the opportunity to create materials used across markets.
